Improvement of main drift chamber Monte-Carlo tuning model at BESⅢ

Based on real data, a new parameterized model of the main drift chamber response is proposed. In this model, we tune the ratio of good hits and the residual distribution separately. By data quality checking, the diference between simulation and data in track reconstruction efciency reduces from 1% to 0.5% averagely for the pion in J/ψ→π+π π0, and the momentum resolution agreement improves significantly for the proton in J/ψ→ppˉ.

Calibration study of the X-T relation for the BES drift chamber

Offiine calibration plays an important role in BESⅢ offiine data processing. In order to achieve good spatial and momentum resolution, it is necessary to implement high precision offline calibration for the BESⅢ drift chamber. This paper studies the time-to-distance relations, which are important calibration constants for track reconstruction. The parameterization of the time-to-distance relation, studies of left-right asymmetry and studies of variation with entrance angle are performed. The impact of dead channels on the time-to-distance relation is given special attention in order to reduce the shift in measured momentum for tracks passing near dead cells. Finally we present the resolutions for barrel Bhabha events (|cosθ| 〈0.8) from a J/ψ data set taken in 2012. The average spatial resolution is 123 μm and the momentum resolution for 1.548 GeV/c Bhabha tracks is 11.9 MeV/c.

Monte Carlo tuning for the BESⅢ time-of-flight system

Using experimental data, Monte Carlo tuning is implemented for performance parameters associated with the scintillation counters and readout electronics of the BESIII time-of-flight (TOF) system, as part of the full simulation model. The implementation of the tuning is described for simulations designed to reproduce the performance of a number of TOF system parameters, including pulse height, hit efficiency, time resolution, dead channels and background. In addition, comparisons with exoerimenta.1 data are presented.

Evidence for e^+e^-→γχ_(c1,2) at center-of-mass energies from 4.009 to 4.360 GeV

Using data samples collected at center-of-mass energies of √s=4.009, 4.230, 4.260, and 4.360 GeV with the BES0 detector operating at the BEPC/ collider, we perform a search for the process e+e-→γχc,j (J =0, 1, 2) and find evidence for e+e-→γχc1 and e+e-→γχc2 with statistical significances of 3.0σ and 3.4σ, respectively. The Born cross sections σB(e+e-→γχc,j), as well as their upper limits at the 90% con dence level (C.L.) are determined at each center-of-mass energy.

Measurement of integrated luminosity and center-of-mass energy of data taken by BESⅢ at s^(1/2)=2.125 GeV

To study the nature of the state Y(2175),a dedicated data set of e + e-collision data was collected at the center-of-mass energy of 2.125 GeV with the BESⅢ detector at the BEPCⅡ collider.By analyzing large-angle Bhabha scattering events,the integrated luminosity of this data set is determined to be 108.49±0.02±0.85 pb-1,where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one is systematic.In addition,the center-of-mass energy of the data set is determined with radiative dimuon events to be 2126.55±0.03±0.85 MeV,where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one is systematic.

Determination of the number of ψ(3686)events at BESⅢ被引量:1

The numbers of ψ(3686) events accumulated by the BESⅢ detector for the data taken during 2009 and 2012 are determined to be(107.0±0.8)×10^6 and(341.1±2.1)×10^6, respectively, by counting inclusive hadronic events,where the uncertainties are systematic and the statistical uncertainties are negligible. The number of events for the sample taken in 2009 is consistent with that of the previous measurement. The total number of ψ(3686) events for the two data taking periods is(448.1±2.9)×10^6.

Study of cluster reconstruction and track fitting algorithms for CGEM-IT at BESIII

Considering the effects of aging on the existing Inner Drift Chamber (IDC) of BESIII, a GEM-based inner tracker, the Cylindrical-GEM Inner Tracker (CGEM-IT), is proposed to be designed and constructed as an upgrade candidate for the IDC. This paper introduces a full simulation package for the CGEM-IT with a simplified digitization model, and describes the development of software for cluster reconstruction and track fitting, using a track fitting algorithm based on the Kalman filter method. Preliminary results for the reconstruction algorithms which are obtained using a Monte Carlo sample of single muon events in the CGEM-IT, show that the CGEM-IT has comparable momentum resolution and transverse vertex resolution to the IDC, and a better z-direction resolution than the IDC.

北京谱仪(BESⅢ)飞行时间探测器的离线数据质量监测软件通过对原始数据的分析,刻度过程和重建结果的监测获得探测器的性能参数等信息,并进行图形输出,对保障离线数据质量和实现北京谱仪物理目标是十分重要的。本文对飞行时间探测器离线数据质量监控的软件框架进行了描述。

BESⅢ升级中硅像素径迹室位置校准的MC研究

硅像素径迹室是BESⅢ升级项目之一,离线软件校准是其离线数据处理系统的重要组成部分,研究过程采用蒙特卡罗方法,将残差法应用于漂移室升级项目中硅像素径迹室的几何位置校准,分别以ladder、芯片为最小探测单元进行研究,结果表明,该方法可有效应用于硅像素径迹室的位置校准。

The offline data quality monitoring of the BESIII end-cap TOF system

Background The end-cap time-of-flight(TOF)at Beijing Spectrometer was upgraded with multi-gap resistive plate chamber technology in order to improve the particle identification capability in 2015.The offline data quality monitoring(ODQM)is a critical aspect of the data processing chain aiming at providing data with good quality for physics analyses.Method An ODQM tool for upgraded end-cap TOF has been developed to provide feedback about the functioning and performance of detector hardware and data processing chain.Detector information and reconstructed time-of-flight characteristics of charged tracks are filled into plots using full Bhabha events’reconstruction results,and then,these plots are used to assess the operational conditions of the detector and the quality of the data by the experts.Result This paper describes the design and the content of performance of the ODQM of end-cap TOF and the data quality performance achieved during the last 2-year physical data taking.
