We present the measurement of a hybrid double-dot qubit using a quantum point contact (QPC). To study the dy- namics, we derive the rate equations of the entire system. Numerical results show that QPC current can directly reflect the evolution of the qubit. By adjusting Coulomb interaction, energy mismatch, and QPC tunneling rate, the efficiency and dephasing time can be improved. In addition, the initial state with a hybrid triplet state is superior to that with the purely triplet states on the efficiency. Moreover, the decoherence time is estimated on the magnitude of a microsecond, long enough to implement quantum operations.
The China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)is the first accelerator-based multidiscipline user facility to produce pulsed neutrons by tungsten target under collision of a pulsed proton beam with a beam power of 100 kW at a repetition rate of 25 Hz.In this paper,we focus on the physical design of CSNS target station and neutron instruments.Under optimized design, the flat tungsten target and the compact target-moderator-reflector coupling enhance effective cold and thermal neutron output from moderators.Three wing-type moderators supply four different characteristics of neutrons to 19 beamlines primarily for neutron scattering applications.Layout of neutron instruments are conceptually planned for total 20 beamlines, the configuration and specification have been determined for three day-one neutron instruments. All designs are optimized for the Phase I of 100 kW with a upgradable capacity to 500 kW.

We study the dynamics of two electron spins in coupled quantum dots (CQDs) monitored by a quantum point contact (QPC) detector. Their quantum state can be measured by embedding the QPC in an LC circuit. We derive the Bloch-type rate equations of the reduced density matrix for CQDs. Special attention is paid to the numerical results for the weak measurement condintion under a strong Coulomb interaction. It is shown that the evolution of QPC current always follows that of electron occupation in the right dot. In addition, we find that the output voltage of the circuit can reflect the evolution of QPC current when the circuit and QPC are approximately equal in frequency. In particular, the wave shape of the output voltage can be improved by adjusting the circuit resonance frequency and bandwidth.
In this paper, multiferroics and magnetocapacitive effect of triangular-lattice antiferromagnet Ag Al0.02Cr0.98S2 are investigated by magnetic, ferroelectric, pyroelectric current and dielectric measurement. We find that it is a multiferroic material and the magnetocapacitive effect reaches a factor of up to 90 in an external field of 7 T. The results imply the further possibility of synthesizing the magnetocapacitive materials by modifying the frustrated spin structure in terms of a few B-site doping nonmagnetic ions.
Our recent progress on magnetic entropy change(S) involving martensitic transition in both conventional and metamagnetic NiMn-based Heusler alloys is reviewed. For the conventional alloys, where both martensite and austenite exhibit ferromagnetic(FM) behavior but show different magnetic anisotropies,a positive S as large as 4.1 J·kg^-1·K^-1 under a field change of 0-0.9 T was first observed at martensitic transition temperature T M~197 K.Through adjusting the Ni:Mn:Ga ratio to affect valence electron concentration e/a,T M was successfully tuned to room temperature, and a large negative S was observed in a single crystal. The △S attained 18.0 J·kg^-1·K^-1 under a field change of 0-5 T.We also focused on the metamagnetic alloys that show mechanisms different from the conventional ones.It was found that post-annealing in suitable conditions or introducing interstitial H atoms can shift the T M across a wide temperature range while retaining the strong metamagnetic behavior, and hence, retaining large magnetocaloric effect(MCE) and magnetoresistance(MR).The melt-spun technique can disorder atoms and make the ribbons display a B2 structure, but the metamagnetic behavior,as well as the MCE,becomes weak due to the enhanced saturated magnetization of martensites. We also studied the effect of Fe/Co co-doping in Ni 45(Co1-xFex)5 Mn36.6In13.4 metamagnetic alloys.Introduction of Fe atoms can assist the conversion of the Mn-Mn coupling from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic, thus maintaining the strong metamagnetic behavior and large MCE and MR.Furthermore,a small thermal hysteresis but significant magnetic hysteresis was observed around TM in Ni51Mn49-xInx metamagnetic systems, which must be related to different nucleation mechanisms of structural transition under different external perturbations.
The rate and cycling performances of the electrode materials are affected by many factors in a practical complicated electrode process. Learning about the limiting step in a practical electrochemical reaction is very important to effectively improve the electrochemical performances of the electrode materials. Li4Ti5O12, as a zero-strain material, has been considered as a promising anode material for long life Li-ion batteries. In this study, our results show that the Li4Ti5O12 pasted on Cu or graphite felt current collector exhibits unexpectedly higher rate performance than on A1 current collector. For Li4Ti5O12, the electron transfer between current collector and active material is the critical factor that affects its rate and cycling performances.
The magnetic and dielectric properties of polycrystalline Cdl-~FexCr2S4 (0 〈 x ~ 0.9) are investigated. Upon substitution of Cd by Fe, the Curie temperature (Tc) is increased while the saturation magnetization is decreased. A low doping level of Fe increases the permittivity, while a high doping level decreases the permittivity, which is explained by the internal barrier layer capacitor model. Kinks are observed in the temperature-dependent permittivity and loss tangent near TC for the samples with x = 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, implying the existence of the magnetodielectric effect. Furthermore, with the increase of Fe content, a decrease of anomaly deviation rate induced by internal molecular field is revealed in the permittivity, while an increase is observed for the loss tangent.
