Ferromagnetic interactions in EO-azido-bridged binuclear transition metal(Ⅱ) systems: Syntheses, crystal structures and magnetostructural correlations

Three new isostructural binuclear transition metal complexes with azido ion and 1,2-bis(3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)ethane (bppe), formulated as [M 2 (N 3 ) 2 (bppe) 2 ](ClO 4 ) 2 (M = Co, 1; Ni, 2; Cu, 3), were successfully synthesized. They were structurally and magnetically characterized. In 1-3, the double azido ions link two adjacent octahedral metal centers together in the end-to-on mode (EO), with the M-N EO -M angles of 99.41°, 100.24° and 99.80°, respectively. The co-ligand bppe acts as terminal ligand to saturate the remaining coordination sites. The magnetic properties of 1-3 have been investigated in the temperature range of 2-300 K. Fitting of the magnetic susceptibility data revealed the occurrence of the strong ferromagnetic interactions [J = 26.32 cm-1 (1), J = 38.23 cm-1 (2) and J = 139.83 cm-1 (3)]. Density functional theory calculations have been performed on 1-3 to provide a magneto-structural correlation of the ferromagnetic behavior.

One-dimensional lanthanide complexes bridged by nitronyl nitroxide radical ligands with non-chelating nitrogen donors: Structure and magnetic characterization

A series of new lanthanide-radical complexes [{Ln(hfac)3}2(NITPhIM)2] (Ln = Nd (1), Eu (2), Tb (3), Er (4); hfac = hexafluoroacetylacetonate; NITPhIM = 2-[4-(1-imidazole)phenyl]-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide) have been prepared and characterized. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that these complexes are isostructural with one-dimensional chain structures. These consist in Ln(hfac)3 units bridged by the paramagnetic ligands by the means of coordination of their nitronyl nitroxide groups and imidazole rings. Interestingly, each Ln ion is either bound to two nitronyl nitroxide groups or to two imidazole units, and the different Ln centers alternate along the chain. Magnetic studies show that complex 3 exhibits a single-chain magnet behavior.

采用2-(2-喹啉)氮氧自由基与过渡金属Ni(Ⅱ)配位,得到了一个Ni(Ⅱ)与自由基形成的双自旋配合物[Ni(hfac)_2(2-QNNN)],(其中2-QNNN=2-(2-喹啉基)-4,4,5,5-四甲基咪唑啉-3-氧化-1-氧基自由基,hfac=1,1,1,5,5,5-六氟乙酰丙酮).单晶X-射线衍射结果表明,配合物属三斜晶系,P_i空间群.晶胞参数a=1.350 8(3)nm,b=1.418 9(3)nm,c=1.817 8(4)nm,α=104.76(3)°,β=108.65(3)°,γ=90.03(3)°,其中每个Ni(Ⅱ)离子采取六配位模式处于八面体配位构型中,分别与两个六氟乙酰丙酮上的四个氧原子、氮氧自由基N一O基团上的一个氧原子以及氮氧自由基喹啉基团上的氮原子配位.变温磁化率研究表明,配合物中过渡金属Ni(Ⅱ)离子和自由基之间存在着强的反铁磁相互作用.
