In this paper,we report the photoionization and photodissociative ionization processes of azobenzene(AB)by using vacuum ultraviolet synchrotron radiation (SR)photoionization mass spectroscopy.The ionization potential(IP)of the AB molecular and the appearance potential(AP)of the main ionic fragments from the SR photodissociative ionization of AB were measured.On the basis of IP(C12H10N2)and AP measured in this experiment,dissociative energy D0(C6H5-N2C6H5),D0(C6H5+-N2C6H5),D0(C6H5-N2C6H5+)and IP(C6H5N2)were evaluated.Based on the results of the mass spectroscopy of AB,the possible channel of the photodissociative ionization of AB was discussed.
