This site lies on Shijiao-shan Hill at Shijiao-shan Village of Daxin Township in Pingnan County, Guangxi. Ancient cultural remains exist in the Shanding-dong, Dengzhan-yan and Niuhi-yan caves in the hill. In 1991, a rescuing excavation was carried out in the damaged Dengzhan-yan Cave, revealing an area of 15 sq m. In the Neolithic deposits, stone tools and pottery vessels occurred among findings both unearthed this time and picked up previously. The pottery includes fu cauldrons, ding tripods, zeng steamers, jars, dou stemmed vessels, dishes, spindle whorls, spindle-whorl-shaped objects, and distinctive white-coated black-painted shards. This is the late Neolithic cave-site first excavated in the region south of the Five Ridges.
