Geochemical constraints on the methane seep activity in western slope of the middle Okinawa Trough, the East China Sea被引量:3

Anaerobic oxidation of methane and sulfate reduction was studied in the pore waters of four cores at two stations of the middle Okinawa Trough. Pore water vertical distributions of sulfate, methane, sulfide, total alkalinity, ammonium, and phosphate were determined in this study. Our results show strong linear sulfate concentration gradients of 6.83 mmol/L m?1 in Core A and 5.96 mmol/L m?1 in Core C, which were collected from two stations. Concurrent variations of methane, total alkalinity and hydrogen sulfide all exhibit steep increases with depth at both cores, which indicate active methane seep activities around two stations. Pore water ammonium and phosphate concentrations reveal minor influences of organic matter degradation on sulfate reduction at two stations. Sulfate methane interface(SMI) was extrapolated from linear sulfate profiles in methane seep cores. Shallower SMI depths(A: 4.9 mbsf; C: 5.4 mbsf) indicate strong methane fluxes and active anaerobic oxidation of methane in the underlying sediments.

Dynamic Modeling and Analysis of 4UPS-UPU Spatial Parallel Mechanism with Spherical Clearance Joint被引量:1

Clearance between the moving joints is unavoidable in real working process. At present, many researches are mainly focused on dynamics of plane revolute joint in plane mechanism, but few on dynamics of spatial spherical joint clearance in spatial parallel mechanism. In this paper, a general method is proposed for establishing dynamic equations of spatial parallel mechanism with spatial spherical clearance by Lagrange multiplier method. The kinematic model and contact force model of the spherical joint clearance were established successively. Lagrange multiplier method was used to deduce the dynamics equation of 4 UPS-UPU mechanism with spherical clearance joint systematically. The influence of friction coefficient on dynamics response of 4 UPS-UPU mechanism with spherical clearance joint was analyzed. Non-linear characteristics of clearance joint and moving platform were analyzed by Poincare map, phase diagram, and bifurcation diagram. The results show that variation of friction coefficient and clearance value had little effect on stability of the mechanism, but the chaotic phenomenon was found at spherical clearance joint. The research has theoretical guiding significance for improving the dynamic performance and avoiding of chaos of parallel mechanisms including spherical joint clearance.

Dear Editor,Sex in mammals is genetically determined and defined at the cellular level by the sex chromosome constitution(XY males and XX females)and at the phenotypic level by the development of genderspecific anatomy,physiology,and behavior.146,XY complete gonadal dysgenesis(46,XY CGD),first reported by Swyer in 1955,^2 is a rare congenital condition with completely or partially disordered gonadal development,leading to discordance between the genetic,gonadal,and phenotypic sex.Affected patients have a 46,XY karyotype,a female phenotype,normal female external genitalia,and CGD("streak gonads")without sperm production and follicular or steroid function.

Electron capture rates for iron group nuclei at the surface of magnetar

Effects of an ultra-strong magnetic field on electron capture rates for55 Co are analyzed in the nuclear shell model and under the Landau energy levels quantized approximation in the ultra-strong magnetic field, and the electron capture rates on 10 abundant iron group nuclei at the surface of a magnetar are given. The results show that electron capture rates on 55Co are increased greatly in the ultra-strong magnetic field, by about 3 orders of magnitude generally. These conclusions play an important role in future study of the evolution of magnetars.

Identifying the turbulent flow developing inside and around the bottom trawl by Electromagnetic Current Velocity Meter approach in the flume tank被引量:1

The Knowledge of turbulent flow developing inside and around the bottom trawl net is of great importance not only for improving the hydrodynamic performance of the gear but also for the selectivity via the fish response,such as the herding response or escape behavior.The 3-D Electromagnetic Current Velocity Meter(ECVM)measurements were performed to investigate the effect of turbulent flow on the bottom trawl net performance and to analyze the turbulence intensity and velocity ratio inside and around different parts of the trawl net.Proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)method was applied in order to extract the phase averaged mean velocity field of turbulent flow from each available ECVM instantaneous velocity.The results demonstrated the existence of turbulence flow,consisting of turbulent boundary layer flow and the turbulence due to the trawl wake developing all inside and around the bottom trawl net.Increasing input streamwise velocity results in faster trawl movement and a significant turbulent flow.The maximum turbulence intensity inside and around trawl wing,square part,first belly,second belly,third belly,cod-end is 0.95%,1.34%,3.40%,4.10%,4.25%and 3.80%,respectively.It was found that the mean velocity field in a turbulent flow inside and around trawl net cod-end recovered on the average was~77.58%of the input streamwise velocity.It is~12.92%,~13.07%,~11.40%,~13.00%and~0.45%less than that inside and around trawl wing,square part,first belly,second belly,and third belly of the bottom trawl net,respectively.The turbulent flow behavior depends strongly on the structure oscillation,input streamwise velocity and,porosity of the net structure.It is necessary to take into account the velocity reduction inside and around a different part of the trawl net to improve the entire drag force determination,cod-end design,and further selectivity control of the fishing gear.

An exceptionally strengthened East Asian summer monsoon event between 19.9 and 17.1 ka BP recorded in a Hulu stalagmite被引量:11

A stalagmite-based isotope record (No. H82) from Nanjing Hulu Cave, spanning from 16.5 to 10.3 ka BP, provided strong evidence for a coherence relation between the East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) and the North Atlantic climates on millennial time scales. Here we extend the high-resolution δ 18O time series back to 22.1 ka BP with additional 7 230Th dates and 573 stable isotope measurements on the lower part of that sample. The new record with a decadal resolution, piecing together with the previous data, provides a detailed, complete Last Glacial Maximum (LGM)/deglacial history of the EASM. Two centennial-scale weak monsoon events are detected within the analogue H1 event, and can be corre- lated to corresponding Greenland temperature shifts. This suggests a rapid re-organization of atmos- pheric and oceanic circulations during the ice-rafted debris (IRD) event in North Atlantic. A strength- ened EASM event spanning from 19.9 to 17.1 ka BP, firstly reported here, reaches on average a half of the monsoon intensity of B?lling warming with its peak close to the full level. Taking all available evi- dence from continental and oceanic sediments into consideration, we suggest that a forcing mecha- nism behind the event would be a positive feedback of the tropical Pacific Super-ENSO cycles in re- sponse to precessional changes in solar irradiation.

Hydrogen isotope geochemistry of lherzolitic shergottite in Martian meteorite GRV99027 from the Grove Mountains in Antarctica被引量:5

Hydrogen isotopic composition was measured using an ion microprobe for lherzolitic shergottite in Martian meteorite GRV 99027 from the Grove Mountains in Antarctica. The D/H ratios of phosphate whitlockites were analyzed and water concentrations of tested points were calculated. The result show that their δ D values vary from +1300‰ to +4700‰, and water contents from 0.04 wt% to 0.43 wt%. Comparing the results with the hydrogen isotopic compositions of whole rock, hydrous miner- als and phosphates in SNC meteorites indicates that water highly enriched in deuterium is a unique feature of Martian meteorites, especially the phosphates prominent. It is interpreted as the result of isotopic exchange between magmatic water and Martian crustal fluids. The high D/H ratios observed in GRV 99027 phosphates indicate that they have hydrogen isotopic compositions similar to those of apatite in other Martian meteorites. The results further con- firmed the association of GRV 99027 with the Martian meteorite group.

Seasonal variations of stable isotope in precipitation and moisture transport at Yushu,eastern Tibetan Plateau被引量:9

Precipitation δ 18O at Yushu, eastern Tibetan Plateau, shows strong fluctuation and lack of clear seasonality. The seasonal pattern of precipitation stable isotope at Yushu is apparently different from either that of the southwest monsoon region to the south or that of the inland region to the north. This different seasonal pattern probably reflects the shift of different moisture sources. In this paper, we present the spatial comparison of the seasonal patterns of precipitation δ 18O, and calculate the moisture transport flux by using the NCAR/NCEP reanalysis data. This allows us to discuss the relation between moisture transport flux and precipitation δ 18O. This study shows that both the southwest monsoon from south and inland air mass transport from north affected the seasonal precipitation δ 18O at Yushu, eastern Tibetan Plateau. Southwest monsoon brings the main part of the moisture, but southwest transport flux is weaker than in the southern part of the Tibetan Plateau. However, contribution of the inland moisture from north or local evaporation moisture is enhanced. The combined effect is the strong fluctuation of summer precipitation δ 18O at Yushu and comparatively poor seasonality.

基于辛积分法的复合材料层合板的应力分析(英文)被引量:1

文章介绍了线弹性体的修正H-R变分原理,并建立了矩形单元的可分型正则方程。然后在辛差分格式的基础上应用显式辛格式得到了单层板的可分型正则控制方程,并应用了多尺度迭代技术以获得高精度的数值解。最后基于层间的应力及位移协调性条件,通过几个层合板静力响应的数值实验证明了文中方法的显著优点。
