Objectives: To discuss effect of Lamivudine in liver cirrhosis treatment. Methods: 100 chronic hepatitis B cirrhosis patients from our hospital’s out-patient clinic and hospitalization, from Dec 2002 to Dec 2007, were reviewed. 95 of them, as therapy group, had been given Lamivudine treatment for 2.5 years; other 55 who did not receive Lamivudine treatment were taken as control group; therapeutic effect of both groups were analyzed. Results: Significant difference of gross effective ratio exists between the two groups (see Table 1, 2 and 3). Conclusions: For chronic hepatitis B cirrhosis patients, hepatic function can be ameliorated, cirrhosis development can be prevented, and quality of life can also be raised by early regular application of Lamivudine.
